The Louisiana School Facilities Management Association (LSFMA) is set to host its 2026 Spring Conference from April 22 to April 24 at the premier Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, LA. This three-day event is designed to balance high-level professional development with meaningful networking opportunities, bringing together facilities managers and industry vendors from across the state to share insights and strengthen the community.
Networking and Vendor Engagement
The conference kicks off on Wednesday with a shotgun-start golf tournament, offering a relaxed environment for attendees to connect before the formal proceedings begin. Networking remains a central theme throughout the event, with daily gatherings at the H2O Bar @ the Pool and dedicated time for vendor exhibits and product demonstrations. Thursday is particularly focused on these partnerships, featuring vendor introductions and a full day of exhibits where members can explore the latest solutions in facility management while sporting the traditional Red Shirt attire.
Educational Sessions and Industry Insights
On Friday, the focus shifts toward technical expertise and organizational growth. Members are encouraged to wear their Blue Fishing Shirts during specialized educational sessions. Key topics for this spring include:
Turf Maintenance and Management: Led by John Parker of Sprinturf.
Mildew VS Mold: A technical deep dive presented by Wynn White, PE.
Following the presentations, the event concludes with an open business discussion to address member concerns, the distribution of door prizes, and a collective push to grow the association by inviting neighboring parishes and new vendors to join the LSFMA mission.
